Affirmative Action Overturn: Top Concerns from CDOs

Following the Supreme Court's decisive 6-3 ruling on June 29, 2023, affirmative action in college admissions, which formerly considered race as a factor, is now prohibited. To understand the implications for DEI leaders and potential repercussions in corporate settings, Seramount's research team conducted an Employee Voice Session (EVS).

Our findings, outlined in this guide, shed light on the strong emotions and concerns expressed by CDOs in the aftermath of the Supreme Court decision, signifying its profound impact on DEI efforts.

"I’m not concerned about my role or my team due to the SCOTUS’ decision alone. The combination of the decision, 13 state attorneys general waging war on DEI, & eroding economic landscape has me concerned about future resources."

“Initially I was very worried, but I’ve began to pivot to a more determined mindset. The C-suite has been very vocal in their support, so my plan is to add accountability to the said supports.”
